Meet the Administrators
Libby Schwaegler, Principal
I am honored to work with the amazing families and staff at Troy Heritage Trail Elementary. This is my seventh year at Heritage Trail, four as assistant principal and now third as the building principal. I look forward to continued service to the HT community as we make this a great school year!
This is my 18th year as an educator. I graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelors of Science in Mathematics and a license to teach secondary math. In addition, I hold a Masters of Arts in Teacher Leadership in Mathematics from Aurora University, and a Masters of Arts in Educational Leadership and Administration from North Central College. I served the East Aurora school district for twelve years prior to coming to Troy, beginning my career as a middle school math teacher. After seven years, I stepped into a teacher-leader role as a district math facilitator, supporting math instruction in kindergarten through eighth grade classrooms for five years. It is my privilege to be a member of the Troy 30c Community of Learners.
I currently live in Naperville with my husband and our four children. Watching my own children learn and grow has shaped me as an educator. I strongly believe that each of our Heritage Trail students deserves a learning environment that is rich in engagement and supportive of individual needs. I am confident that our school will continue to be a place where all students flourish both academically and socially.
